<code> (//pfx/shader/code)

The <code> element directly contains shader source code for the <shader> element

The <code> element contains the shader code as its inner text (usually in <![CDATA[ ]]> format).

The language can be whatever language is suitable for the implementation and API version. For implementations that expect some kind of binary shader input, for example SPIR-V for Vulkan, this element cannot be meaningfully used.
